Company description: St wilfrid's c of e primary school (rh16 3nl)

St Wilfrid’s School, Haywards Heath, opened at the end of South Road as a Church school in 1857 under the headship of Henry Newington.

It had been funded by the Dealtry sisters of Bolnore House.

Haywards Heath had no church at the time so services were held in the schoolroom until St Wilfrid’s church was built in 1865.

In 1951, having outgrown the old building, the school moved to the Eastern Road site where it has grown and developed into the school that it is today...
